HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON ANTIBIOTICS?
Are you Constipated?
Do you or someone you know have Acne?
You may suffer from Candida Albicans and not even know it.
What is Candida Albicans?
Candida is a yeast overgrowth in the body. It thrives in warm blooded animals. It normally lives harmoniously in the inner creases of the digestive and vaginal tracts. When an overgrowth of yeast occurs in the gastrointestinal tract it is recognized as a complex medical condition called candidiasis. Chronic candidiasis has been clinically proven to cause a variety of symptoms in virtually every system of the body.
What Makes Candida Grow?
1) The biggest culprits of Candida growth are the repeated use of antibiotics and birth control pills because they destroy the beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and allow the harmful bacteria (yeast) to multiply. Many women who have taken antibiotics find themselves with subsequent yeast infections. It happens all the time!
2) Another contributor to yeast infections is sugars: Soda, candy, cakes, doughnuts, ice cream, gum, etc. Sugar feeds yeast and they multiply like crazy! A research study of one hundred women in the July 1984 issue of the Journal of Reproductive Medicine found that our intake of sugar and dairy products had a positive correlation with the incidence of vaginal yeast infections. After going on a diet and eliminating these foods, more than 90% of these women became yeast infection free for over a year.
3) A weakened immune system by poor nutrition, lack of sleep, constant stress, mercury toxicity, environmental pollution and the use of certain drugs can cause Candida to grow.
Whenever our defenses are weakened, infectious organisms move in and begin to reproduce. Antibiotics, Steroid drugs like cortisone, anti-ulcer medications and even birth control pills can affect our immune function.
Other factors that can weaken our immune system include chemotherapy, radiation, cancer, diabetes, Aids, hypothyroidism, liver disease, and alcohol or drug abuse.
What are the symptoms of Candida (Yeast Infection)?
There are many symptoms of Candida and sadly they are unrecognized by physicians, resulting in mis-diagnosis and ineffective treatment. Symptoms of Candida include bloating, cramps, gas, diarrhea, or constipation, and food allergies.
-Symptoms on the skin include eczema, hives, excessive perspiration, acne, psoriasis and nail infections.
-PMS symptoms (mood swings, depression, water retention, cramps, cravings for sweets and headaches) vaginal itching and burning or discharge, recurring bladder infections and loss of sex drive.
-In men, prostatitis, impotence, recurrent anal itching and genital rashes.
-Thyroid and adrenal gland malfunction.
Diagnosing Candida is difficult because it can manifest through so many unrelated symptoms like feeling spaced-out, poor recall, muscle aches, abdominal pain, fatigue, depression, painful joints, spots in front of the eyes, numbness, burning, tingling, and digestive problems, arthritis, hyperactivity, burning tongue, PMS, night sweats, acne, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and so much more.
Conventional treatment for candidiasis tends to ignore the root of the problem. Many times antibiotics are prescribed which contribute to the candida by killing the beneficial bacteria.
The results of antibiotic therapy include future outbreaks of Candida.
There are prescription drugs on the market but they weaken the immune system and can cause serious liver damage.
PREVENTING YEAST INFECTIONS is the best medicine: Keep the immune system healthy through a good nutritious diet, exercise and supplementation of vitamins, minerals, and herbs. Give up fatty, sugary refined foods. Don’t smoke, drink alcohol, or take caffeine. Take a lactobacillus/acidophilus supplement every day. Take garlic capsules daily and don’t overuse antibiotics or other drugs.
